And so it begins……
It's now March 11th and we've sprung forward, leaving the evenings with more light and more time to ride without cutting out of work early. Tonight in Steamboat is our first installment of our local group road ride better known as "THE TUESDAY NIGHT WORLDS". Like many group rides around the country we meet at a local shop...ours happens to be
Orange Peel Bicycle Service, which is also our local Moots dealer. This early in the spring will usually bring out the hard guys looking to ride no matter the weather. Today we are looking at clear skies and temps right around 34 degrees. The ride will be kept to short distances and mainly a slow pace so we can all get our group riding skills together. As the season gets rolling the distance and tempo will grow. Come June when it can be light until 9 pm or so the rides can go for 70 miles at times. If you ever find yourself in Steamboat and its Tuesday please join us for a great time on bikes. We break up into 3 groups most weeks and you can pick your poison for speed....group A= fast, get a flat and you’re on your own, B= nice tempo, will wait (most of the time), C= casual pace, no drops.
The ride goes at 5:30 pm!

The picture looks like the ride up to Island in the Sky, Canyonlands UT. Is it?
It looks like the Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction/Fruita CO?
Is that a banana in your jersey pocket or are you just happy to see the top of the climb?
A mutant - vestigial ‘gator tail.
This shot was taken at the entrance to Arches National Park. You climb up through the gap at the start which is stunning. The route through the park is amazing on bike. Do it on a weekday as to avoid the super land yacht RVs....
