Slow, steady steps… Ka-Pow! And Sam is in a fine samurai stance at the top of the stairs. Outlined by the doorway, he reminds me of an extra from ‘Harry-Karry’. From karate chop position, he walks through the door and often we find ourselves saying, ‘Good Morning!’ with an overly extended wave that uses the whole arm. Matt has one big leg. What makes his big leg bigger than his regular leg is a titanium rod in his shin. You wouldn’t notice unless he pointed it out to you, but his right leg is a bit bigger than his left.
Even bigger than Matt’s right leg is his heart. A strong, honest soul, he’s one of those people that can disagree without hurting anyone’s feelings.

Dave and I share milk. He typically beats me to work by at least a couple of minutes, and is on his way to the coffee pot with a bag of Big Gear Grind by the time I lug my yawning self up the stairs.

It’s Friday and it’s the 7th….
Does that mean it's a lucky day? I don't know about a lucky day, but I'm darn lucky to know some great people in the bike world. Take the guy in the photo....Peet Van Hout, of The Netherlands. I was fortunate to meet this guy in January 2006. I was in Belgium & Holland for a little cross racing and supporting the shop he works for: John Knoops. They put on a great bike expo to promote cycling. The photo of Peet was during a ride/run race held in the local village just a couple of weeks ago.This year they are moving into a new shop that is being renovated as I type. During the grand opening they will have the one and only Eddy Merckx on site to meet and greet customers, they will have a huge Moots display going and of course the friendly staff of John Knoops to help with any bike needs. If you just so happen to be in The Netherlands March 22nd or 23rd stop in and visit our extended Moots family. I'm sure they'll have some strong Dutch coffee and tasty treats to share.
