It’s Tuesday and I feel a little off my game…..
Sorry for the lack of postings over the last couple of days, have been down with the crud that has swept through our little town. I feel I’m on the up swing and most of the Moots staff has pulled through in good fashion. Over the weekend as we hunkered down doing our best to fight off the nasties. I found myself living in my pj’s,
Moot hoody and new
Moots fleece head warmer. It’s the little things that make the difference. As we fought our way through sickness I took solace in the fact that somewhere (mainly Belgium) there were friends, family and fellow competitors doing what I love best…Cyclocross. Over the weekend the Masters Cyclocross World Championships were held in Mol, Belgium. I was fortunate enough to make the trip in January 2006 and compete in the sands that make up the beautiful course. This year many Moots bikes were in the same spot doing battle with our international brethren. A quick run down of Moots and some non-Moots riders goes like this:
Will Black 6th (US) 1964-1968 age class Moots
Andie Mackie 4th US) Women 1959-1968 Moots/VeloBella
Mark Meacock (GB) 1959-1963 Moots
Greg Keller 28th (US)1969-1973 Rocky Mounts/Izzy
Word on the street is that the racing was extremely hard and fast. Looking through some of the other names in the results I can see why. Last names like Groeendaal, Vervecken and so on…yep; these guys have younger brothers that rule the elite fields in Europe.
For a really great account of the weeks action click over to:
Mud and Cowbells. My friend Greg Keller does some great postings on all things cross.
This coming weekend is the big boy (Elite) Cyclocross Worlds being held in Treviso, Italy. I know I'll be watching the web for results!
More to come.
