Matt has one big leg. What makes his big leg bigger than his regular leg is a titanium rod in his shin. You wouldn’t notice unless he pointed it out to you, but his right leg is a bit bigger than his left.
Even bigger than Matt’s right leg is his heart. A strong, honest soul, he’s one of those people that can disagree without hurting anyone’s feelings.

Dave and I share milk. He typically beats me to work by at least a couple of minutes, and is on his way to the coffee pot with a bag of Big Gear Grind by the time I lug my yawning self up the stairs.

Slow, steady steps… Ka-Pow! And Sam is in a fine samurai stance at the top of the stairs. Outlined by the doorway, he reminds me of an extra from ‘Harry-Karry’. From karate chop position, he walks through the door and often we find ourselves saying, ‘Good Morning!’ with an overly extended wave that uses the whole arm. Naturally we’ve gone from ancient Asia to synchronized swimming moves without a flinch…

Just what the doctor ordered…..
It’s Friday and I’m having a doughnut.…just what the doctor ordered…Dr. Caleb that is..As the layout goes here at Moots the “real” work goes down on the main floor of the building…mitering, welding, finishing, CNC work and various other laborious tasks that in the end, make a beautiful Moots product. The time clock is located in a central location on the main floor on top of a poorly built wood table that holds a microwave for those quick on the fly 7-11 burritos. The sales staff, customer service and the rest of our “management” team is located high atop the 2nd floor. To ship out our handcrafted products, the sales staff has to travel downstairs to the shipping area to complete the circle of orders going out the door. As we make our way to shipping you must pass by the above mentioned table…some days there is nothing on the table as far as treats other days a jackpot. Today was a jackpot. Caleb (welder guy) brought in doughnuts and a large bowl of pretzels? If you don’t make a trip downstairs early enough in the morning you have a good chance at missing out….today I scored. I went for the sprinkle variety…Homer Simpson style I believe….and seeing how most of the Moots crew has come down with the Ebola cold virus in way for or another I might be in luck for a second.Thanks Caleb! I feel better already.

That is one sweet looking donut!
I’ll be in Steamboat the 24th -26th. I’m hoping you guys will be around. I’d like to check out the shop! Last time I was there, you were closed.
